Dakhla kite junkie
This post was committed under influence of endorphins after last two incredible kite sessions at Dakhla Attitude. And yes, if someone missed, I’m in Morocco now.
You may asked what have changed is last two days. No wind before? Rain? Cold? Non of above. It’s windy every day for last 3 weeks. Usually 18 to 24 knots, but last week 25- 35 knots. It’s Sahara, so no rain and temperature is just about right.
Something just clicked in my head and I started to actually learn new tricks. And you know what? It worked. Yesterday unhooked backroll and almost pop to blind. Today backroll kiteloop transition and kiteloop jump. I can also add raley that is working really well and backroll tap the water transition from past days. But I’m really happy about the kiteloop as this trick was scaring the creap of me since forever.
Still on my list for Dakhla are backroll kiteloop, dark slide and raley to blind. First one is very likely, second a little less and third probably will wait until Hel.
You may also want to know more about the place I’m staying in. Let’s say if you have a group of kitsurfing friends and you don’t know your next destination yet, it’s definitely place to consider. Wind usually picks up between 1 and 3 pm. In morning it’s lighter. In most of the days you should still be able to kitesurf but you can also choose from SUP, slackline, relax in SPA or Wake Boarding.
There are two kite spots. First just in front of kite school and the second one is behind wake park. Second is the best on low tide. Offshore wind and super smooth water, flat as a table just by the shore.
For once still waiting for more info from Asia, no worries it will come. In 3 days I’m coming back to Poland and on Thursday you can come back for another kite instruction video. This time backroll.
